About:
My name is Petra. When I was a child I was enthusiastic about Judo as a competitive sport.
As an adult, at the age of 35, I got into a violent situation completely unprepared, in which I realised that I never want to experience this “powerlessness” again, like in this situation at that time.
As a result, I started to train kickboxing and later also taught it myself. Even 8 years later, the feeling of being a victim (of having become one) still hasn’t left me. To train fair rules in martial arts inhibited me in the idea that I would be able to defend myself in the future – because you will not get out of a life-threatening situation with fairness.
In 2014, I have therefore additionally started with Krav Maga. I am convinced that through Krav Maga I have defeated the powerlessness that made me unable to act in the violent situation at that time.
For me, Krav Maga means to train my perception in such a way that I can protect myself and those close to me from threatening situations in a far-sighted way, keep the best possible overview in a seemingly unpredictable situation and defend my life with simple, reflexive actions.
What I am prepared to give I decide for myself! Whatever the outcome of an attack on my life – giving up is no longer an option for me!
